Coming into this match, we knew we had to secure 2 out of our remaining 3 matches to comfortably sit in the finals top 5. We were certainly up to the challenge and the girls came out with a great energy and drive. Romsey kept with us in the first quarter, after having a 5-goal run late in the quarter. Recoveries from the 3 players in the defensive end (Jess, Abbey and Eloise) kept us close. It was 7 goals all at the first quarter break. One change was made in the second quarter, with Stella coming onto GS. This made an impact right away. Stella scoring seven of our nine goals in the second term. Abbey had a great second quarter, playing in front of her player and gaining ball for us (3 tips, 2 gains and 1 intercept in Q2). A very pleasing quarter where we outscored the opposition 9-3. The half time score was 16-10. Tamika was a force in the third quarter in both attack and defence. She had two gains and an intercept, as well as eight feeds and 3 assists. The whole team played well defensively in this quarter, keeping Romsey to 3 goals. Three quarter time was 13-21. In the last quarter, the attack end gave away too much ball. Tamika, Izzy H, Abbey and Eloise all made multiple recoveries (12) to keep us in touch in this quarter. A comfortable win in the end to keep the finals dream alive. 29-17
