Round 2: Broadford V Cats - A Grade

Unpacking the game
We won because we had a good scoring margin in the first 30 minutes of the game. Our recoveries came mainly from our mid court showing strong defensive pressure. Caitlyn single handily recovered 5 in the first quarter of the game. The ball coming into our goal third was high but the 17 turnovers from our GS to our C cost us a lot more attempts at goal.

Janelle was kept very quiet in the 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th with no clean recoveries while our keepers were kept to 5 recoveries for the game. This showed either great man on man defence making sure that their opponent didn’t get hands to ball or bad umpiring.

We had very accurate shooting in the 3^rd quarter but the turnovers between goalers was very high with 5 calls going against them. Everyone seemed to have trouble finding a clear path into attack with every player but Janelle and G throwing a bad pass.
Target

We were unsuccessful in achieving almost all our targets this week and this is probably what added to the deflation of the win. We fell 2 short on every stats with short periods of brain fades throughout the game.

Positives to be taken from the game:

1. Goaling accuracy was achieved

3. 9 recoveries to Caitlyn

Area for improvement:

1. Adjusting our defensive style to match the umpires.
2. Scoring off the recoveries.
3. Being patient with the ball.
