Macedon (38) Won Diggers rest (7)
This week we had a strong win against Diggers, but unfortunately, not without highlighting some significant areas for improvement.
We finished our first quarter up 10-1 but accuracy left much to be desired. Without rebounds, our defenders and mid court worked over time to win ball back and bring the ball back down court.
We left the goalers to work through the issues and hoped time would settle and we would start to get our eye in. Unfortunately, accuracy didn’t improve and we went into half time up 16-3.
In the third, Beth moved back to GS, and Ava went into GA. Beth found her form and our midcourt and attack moved the ball with speed and precision down the court. The third was by far our best quarter and allowed us to push out our lead.
The last quarter, accuracy continued to be an issue. We were unable to protect the shot, or block out for rebounds. Fortunately, we had superb defensive pressure all the way down the court. Dacey, Sheridan and Tamika had uncompromising defensive, putting each pass under pressure, and keeping Diggers to 7 goals in 40 minutes.
