Macedon 51 Won 10 Romsey
Very strong game from a great group of women, who are now only beginning to hit their stride.
We were a little slow out of the blocks for the 1st Quarter but then strong defence recoveries by Allira Egan and Izzy McArdle enabled us to lead by 8 goals.
Now settled and our main focus being full court defence the group were able to obtain 10 intercepts. This took Romsey apart and we were able to have a 13 goal run and are now heading into half time 21 goals in front.
The group were focussed on an uncompromised clean defence, with hardly a turnover and our goalers continued to be very effective, no matter the combination. Now heading into the last with a 32 goal lead.
With intent to finish the game as started, we had tremendous ball handling, goaling and continued full court defence for a convincing 41 goal win. So proud of this team effort. Sky’s the limit for this group when they set their mind to it. Bring on next week.
