It finally felt like the football and netball season had started on Saturday with winter conditions bringing out the coats and beanies for the first time this year.

On the netball court three out of four teams came away with a win, only B grade going down to an impressive Romsey lineup. Both U19 and C grade dominated, winning by more then 30 goals.

The footballers were tested by an extensive injury list leaving both the reserve and senior sides undermanned. The seniors were competitive all game, unfortunately their accurate kicking couldn’t get the job done and they went down by 40 points.

If you weren’t in attendance for Macedon’s first (but definitely not last) Beer Pong Tournament on Saturday night, there were some thrilling matches, comes from behind and just a little controversy. But the highlight of the night was underdogs Patty Doyle and Jack Wilson who shocked everyone in their defeat of seasoned competitors, Alastair Collins and Karl Staudt in the Championship match to take home the title.

This was an enjoyable relaxation for the players
