Macedon 44 DEF Lancefield 23
We had another slow start this week. With many turnovers and so fatigued bodies on court. We gave Lancefield a sniff. 7 turnovers in attack, including held balls, meant we had limited options driving for the ball. Meanwhile, in defence, Allira and Janayah had 3 recoveries each to give us extra opportunities. We came into the 2nd quarter with a narrow lead, 8-5. In the second quarter, we made some changes to inject some energy into the line-up. In the goal circle, we struggled to find a nice rotation which resulted in a few poor feeds into the circle. We matched our turnovers this quarter but with a change to defence with Taylah and Allira in the circle, and Em on the wing to add height gained us more ball. We had a 6-goal run to end the quarter bringing us into halftime 19-10. Our third quarter we made adjustments to our defense end. Eloise went into GK which shifted our defenders forward. We cleared some intercepts up front but struggled to shut down the A Grade goaler. We did excel on the rebound bringing in 4 of the 5 missed shots. In attack, we cleaned up the turnovers with only 2 for the quarter. Georgia and Janayah shared the assists and feeds and our goalers shared the volume. This gave us two, five-goal runs and pushed our lead out 33-16. In the fourth quarter, we protected the ball in attack and valued possession. While we one back the ball in defence, we struggled on the transition out with three bad passes. We made a change to get Georgie and Abbey back on court. They listened to the feedback and made an impact in the final five minutes. We maintained a decent lead to walk away with a 44-23 win
Best on this week is Janayah Chamra with 15 feeds 19 assists 1 intercept 3 gains 3 tips
