Macedon 33 Won 5 Diggers Rest
We had another slow start to the game this week, but with wet and trying conditions it was always going to take us some time to adjust. The first quarter was a close 7-3. We kept them low scoring but also had many turnovers including missed shots and fumbles.
I’m the second quarter our defensive game tightened keeping Diggers scoreless. We also started using front space and looking downcourt. We had a very healthy 19-3 lead.
In the third quarter we kept the same lineup to capitalise the difference. We only conceded the one goal however continued with high turnovers and missed shots. Blocking and protecting the shot would have helped us keep possession when the goals didn’t drop.
Our last quarter we swapped out circle defenders. We still kept them to one goal and started to keep more of the ball. However, our hard drives dried up and we forced balls into pressure situations instead of passing to strong front and back holds. Grit got us through that game in trying conditions with a 33-5 win.
