Round 4: Macedon Vs Wallan U19s

Round 4: Macedon Vs Wallan U19s

Macedon 25 def  Wallan 23

With everyone available for today’s match, it was able to give positional versatility and fresh energy out onto the court when needed. Fair to say in the first quarter we wasted plenty of opportunities with bad passing and match play errors. Luckily for our team Eloise started the game strong, with 2 gains, 1 intercept and 4 rebounds in this quarter.  We lead the first break 6 goals to 3.

With Beth falling over late in the first quarter, this seemed to throw our momentum and we let Wallan back into the match. They won this quarter by one goal. Recoveries from those in the defensive half kept us in the quarter.

In the third our passing let us down. As a team in the third quarter we had 8 bad passes. On a positive note, Georgie showed strong work around the ring feeding and assisting our goalers. Our accurate goaling and recoveries made by the mid court certainly helped, as we increased our lead this quarter by 3, leading 20-15.

Wallan were able to keep our goalers somewhat quieter in the last quarter to put the pressure on us to hold our lead. They came back at us with all they had, but it wasn’t enough. It was another nailbiting win in the end for us and our third win in a row! We won 25-23.

We look forward to keeping our momentum and our winning ways going this week against Lancefield.

Best on: Eloise Williams
